As of 10/1/2021, permit fees for smoke inspections, propane tank inspections (both above & under ground ), oil tank, furnace & burner permits will be $ 50.00 . Checks should be made payable to "Town of Belchertown" . Our mailing address is : Belchertown Fire Department, PO Box 1074, Belchertown, MA 01007. There is a white metal drop box if you wish to leave permits for the Department after hours. If you have any questions regarding permits or inspection appointments , please call the secretary at 413-323-7571 from 8 am to 2 pm, Monday - Friday.
**Renewable Burn Permit Season Begins Jan 15, 2022 and runs through May 1st 2022.
Residents can register and obtain a permit number at the Belchertown Fire Dept, 10 North Main Street from 8 am to 2 pm , Monday - Friday. The Fire Dept. will also be open 9 a.m. - Noon on Saturdays through May 1st to register residents for the season. The one time fee to register for the season is $ 15.00. All residents must renew their permit, on each and every day they wish to burn, either online at: www.hcburnpermits.com or by calling the Fire Dept @ 413-323-7571 . The Massachusetts DEP will only allow activation of burning permits for one day at a time , based on weather conditions. On any given day that burning is permitted, burning is allowed from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. only.
