Message from the Selectmen 3-17-2020

3-17-2020:
Dear Belchertown Residents

With onset of the Corona virus in Western Massachusetts, we must do our best as a community to minimize the impact of its spread across our town.  This includes limiting in-person public interaction with Town employees.  Town Employees will remain available via telephone and email to assist you.  Police and Fire Departments remain available to respond to incidents.


Effective immediately, public access to the Town buildings and Town outdoor areas will be restricted until further notice.

Many transactions can be done online and we highly encourage everyone to utilize that method.  Drop boxes will also be installed at different Town building locations very quickly to help those that prefer a different method.

If you have questions about transactions in general, please call the respective department and they will be able to help you determine the best way to accomplish your objective.  We have a dedicated team that will look for ways to make positive outcomes for you out of this situation.

Under the Governors Emergency Order for Open Meetings, all public meetings will now be done remotely until further notice, please refer to the meeting notices to obtain remote participation information.

How we help each other during this critical juncture will have a significant impact on our community’s ability to move effectively through this public health situation.
