Policy for Excessive Barking Investigations
A complaint of excessive barking will be investigated for a period of two (2) weeks. The two-week period starts on the date that a signed written complaint is filed at the Board of Selectmen's office. Within five (5) days of the end of the two-week period, the Dog Officer and/or Assistant Dog Officer shall file a written report of the investigation with the Board of Selectmen.
If the complaint is confirmed, the Dog Officer or Assistant Dog Officer shall take appropriate action, per the Dog Control By-law. If the Complaint is not confirmed, an aggrieved party may file a new complaint.
