
Officer Oey will conduct periodical Firearms Safety Courses as required by the new State Law for anyone applying for a first time FID/LTC. The applications are available in the police station lobby. The fee for the class is $80.00 and pre-registration is recommended. When there are 10 pre-registered applicants the class will be advertised in the local paper. The class is limited to 25 students. When there are 25 students registered anyone applying after will be rescheduled for the next available class.
The class is 8-hours (Mandatory) and will consist of a Power Point presentation and hands on handling of firearms. Students are also required to pass a written proficiency examination at the end of the day on the covered subjects.
Applications for local sportsman clubs will be available at the class. (Club affiliation may be required by some jurisdictions for an A/B LTC.)

Ofc. Oey currently holds certifications as an Armorer in S&W, Sig Sauer, Glock, Beretta, and Colt firearms. He also has 15 years experience as a Firearm, Defensive Tactics, Officer Survival Instructor as well as specialized training through other Local and Federal agencies.
