Belchertown EMS

Information about our service

Where are we?
Our station is located at 9 East Walnut Street just off the northeast end of the commons and we are staffed 24 hours a day.

Level of service
Our service provides ALS service with a lead paramedic paired with another paramedic, an EMT Intermediate or an EMT Basic at nearly all times. Many of our staff live in town and we are often able to staff a second vehicle on a call basis when the primary ambulance is occupied with another call. When a second ambulance cannot be staffed we call in an ambulance from Amherst, Ludlow, Palmer or Ware depending on the location of the emergency.

Hospitals we use
Depending on the proximity to a call, the level or type of care required, and patient desire when possible, we transport patients to either Mary Lane in Ware, Wing in Palmer, Cooley Dickenson in Northampton, Mercy in Springfield or Baystate in Springfield.

History
Mark Brouillette has compiled a history of our service and we are always looking for more information and images for the page. If you have anything to add please let us know!
