The Retired
and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a national community service program
funded primarily by the Corporation for National and Community Service that
connects people age 55 and older with service opportunities in their
communities. In strategic and innovative partnerships with local agencies,
RSVP of Hampshire and Franklin Counties provides opportunities for
life-experienced volunteers to help alleviate critical community needs.
Currently there
are approximately 480 RSVP members serving at over 40 agencies in Hampshire and
Franklin counties. RSVP recruits volunteers from the community, and then
matches the interests, skills, and experience of the individual with the best
volunteer placement. RSVP members serve at local schools, senior centers,
hospitals, and other human service agencies. RSVP provides specialized training
opportunities and meaningful recognition events to motivate and thank our
members.
