Companion Errand Program

The Companion Errand Program provides our seniors with transportation and a companion to accompany them to physician appointments, dental visits, physical therapy, medical tests, etc.  This program provided 1100 hours of service to over 80 seniors and caregivers during the last twelve months and the numbers continue to grow.  Those served depend on the service for something many of us who drive take for granted: a means to get from one place to another. But our companions don’t just provide transportation; they go along with the senior to these appointments.

Demand for the Companion Errand Program continues to overwhelm our capabilities to provide this vital service.  We greatly appreciate the financial support for this program through donations from clients served, their families, local citizens, and area businesses.  The program is currently partially funded by a Federal Title IIIE Caregiver Assistance grant through WestMass ElderCare, our local Aging Service Access Point.
