Outreach Services
Reaching out to the elderly residents of Belchertown
is a large part of the mission of the Council
On Aging. Outreach workers
are specially trained professionals who assist clients in maintaining their
independence for as long as possible. Through meetings with elders in their
home environment, needs can be assessed and addressed together. At times
family members may be a part of this process.
Along with assisting elders to assess and
verbalize their needs, Outreach Workers are knowledgeable on where and how
to connect elders with resources.
Social Services
The
Belchertown Council On Aging offers a wide variety of services to our seniors, including:
information and referral services, travel services, health
promotion, tax preparation assistance, entitlement program applications, and
assistance with insurance-related benefits are available. We also have
medical equipment loans, publish a monthly newsletter, and make volunteer
opportunities available.
Please email
Diane
Morgan or call her at 323-0420 with your specific needs or if you know of
someone else in need.
